B2Share Nordic Newsletter 20141006
October 6th, 2014
The B2Share Nordic project aims to engage Nordic research communities into customizing the B2Share file sharing service, developed by EUDAT, to best suit the need of Nordic researchers. The project is owned by NeIC - Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration.
The 2nd steering group meeting was held at Arlanda, Sweden on the 4th of September and the minutes can be found at https://wiki.neic.no/w/ext/img_auth.php/1/11/B2Sahre_Nordic_2nd_SG_meeting_minutes_2014-09-05.pdf. The SG was very pleased with the results, and since there at the time of the meeting were still discussions ongoing with the EPOS and GBIF consortiums, decided that the project should continue for two months until the 31st of October.
The project team is pleased to report that an agreement has been signed with the European Plate Observing System (EPOS) consortium and the University of Oulu. NeIC will fund work that will benefit the B2Share Nordic project and is performed at the University.
We are also happy to report that the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) node in Norway will join B2Share Nordic and facilitate the deposit of biodiversity data collected in Norway, including current observations from citizen scientists, researchers and other sources.
