B2Share Nordic - newsletter

The B2Share Nordic project aims to engage Nordic research communities into customizing the B2Share file sharing service, developed by EUDAT, to best suit the need of Nordic researchers. The project is owned by NeIC - Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration.

  • Since beginning of this month we have a new Project leader: Dan Still (CSC, <Dan.Still@csc.fi>) has taken over project lead from Teemu Kemppainen. Teemu has left for new adventures in Southern Germany. He has followed the opportunity and is now Implementation Team Lead with Thomson Reuters in Karlsruhe. NeIC wishes Teemu all the best for his future and wants to thank him again for the productive time together in setting up the project!
  • Per Öster (CSC) is replacing Dan Still in the Steering Group for B2Share Nordic.
  • The date for the planned workshop is likely going to be moved and will just be an internal event, otherwise the project will proceed as planned.
  • B2Share Nordic coverage at the EGI Community Forum (CF) in Helsinki this week: Due to time constraints the B2Share Nordic talk at the EGI CF this week had to be cancelled, but B2Share Nordic will still be present on several slides during the presentation NeIC - Collaboration and projects, Gudmund Høst (NeIC Director) in the NeIC project organisation and status reports session on Wednesday 21th at 14:00.

  • Furthermore B2Share Nordic is also mentioned in the NeIC Generic area flyer which is distributed this week during the EGI CF at the NeIC Booth.

  • Last, but definitely least, we welcome Dan within NeIC and are very happy to have found such a competent person to take over at such short notice. Dan has a broad and successful background as project manager. He led several of the CSC supercomputer procurement projects within the computer operations group at CSC, and is now otherwise currently managing the data service group at CSC. We are wishing him good luck with a smooth transition also with our B2Share Nordic project!
