Suggestions NE 2022-02-10

  • vm.dirty_background_bytes
    • Recent experience on modern HPC2N pool hardware suggests that 512 MiB is too low, we see sporadically fragmented files.
    • Suggest changing this to 1 GiB, seems to work as intended then.
    • The hard limit (vm.dirty_bytes) of 2 GiB seems to be OK.
  • The UIO throttling example, time to remove it?
