• Flying back:

EGI Update/Conference

• EGI was asked for a specific offer before the NLCG meeting, then a new document was sent
  • The fee: 5000 EUR + VAT = 7000+ EUR (per site in GOC database)
  • All tier 1 are one site, while tier 2 are separate sites → All together are 5 sites
  • It was argued that NeIC should pay one fee as a meta-site:
• All Nordic countries are completely out of EGI
  • Friction between CSC and EGI
• If they want more than one site fee, this is a new discussion for 2024
• EU non-Nordic WLCG countries pay the fee to EGI
  • Romania, Russia and others don’t pay the fee
• CERN pay substantial fee, so that some “poor” sites are covered
• Norway was the first to quit ~10 years ago
• AP Oxana: Let Tiziana know that we will be there, and whether she is interested in a coffee break?

hepix fall 2022 in Umeå

• Whole week meeting:
• Hepix: Sys admins conference for HEP engineers to share experience (world-wide attendance)
  • Funding: Registration fees + sponsors
  • Board meeting today
• Can NeIC pay part of the expenses?
  • AP Abdulrahman: ask Gudmund

Pledges update

• Due to increased cost for the disk storage, more sites are moving to tape
