Minutes

  • Presence
    • In person: Mattias Wadenstein, Oxana Smirnova; Remote: Michaela Barth
  • Budget (travel, SGAS shift, NORDUnet)
    • SGAS will be shifted from Coderefinery to NT1 as of October 1st
    • NORDUNet networking costs will be slightly lower this contract term due to them finding that the CERN redundancy solution came in under cost estimate (19kEUR/y instead of 25kEUR/y).
    • As of next contracting period, costs will go up again due to the needed purchase of new central servers for Tier-1 operations
    • Travel costs likely end up 100k NOK less than budget, but the error bar on this estimate is 100k NOK
  • New 24/7 on call service
    • First alarm with the new 24/7 coverage worked as intended
  • Monitoring Development Dialogues
    • All staff hired 2017 or earlier has had a development dialogue 2018
  • Staff changes and information check: websites and wiki
    • AP: MW fix website for staff changes, and mention collaborators on the website
  • Status activity plan
    • Include Benefit analysis (see last SG meeting)

    • Some risks added
    • Brainstorming session at the AHM suggested for listing more risks
    • AP: Oxana add more risks (major disaster, highly increased networking cost)
  • Data Lakes/Tier-2 storage consolidations update
    • Biggest obstacle to consolidate storage seems to be visibility of the local/national contribution. MW to work with WLCG to enhance this visibility for consolidated storage.

    • Idea: turn MoU content into memo of what the NT1 provides: put it on website, link it
    • The MoU was an MoU for WLCG activity NT1, not for all of NT1.
    • Being open to further user communities, where every user community having one representative in the SG and its own set of service description/MoU
    • Maybe we can get a PI to sign the MoU on behalf of LHC communities in each country - but the communities are not legal entities. Further investigation needed.
