Glenna2 Aim1 IaaS Meeting: April 3rd 2018 at 13:30-14:20 CEST

1. Review of last meeting and News

Nikolay Vazov from UiB is new member in Glenna2

2. Glenna2 IaaS Topics:

New Deliverable for 6 months needed: proposal Ceph Object Storage

RK: working on swift.

IF: SSC running Ceph in production at three sites

Potential Ceph topics:

1. Benchmarking

2. Access patterns

3. Staging

4. architectual setup

5. Bottlenecks and how to improve

6. Scalability percieved things that are hard to scale up

7. API Rados gateway API:s and how to setup

8. Hot to do maintenance in a good both object store and block

Decision: Ceph is new deliverable for an allocation of 6 months

IF: user requests to able to access object store from HPC Salman Toor and Andreas Hellander pressed on object store for last two years

3. Status at Sites:

IF: looking into queens upgrade. Gothenburg Hardware coming up

upgrade that region first and proceed with the upgrades in other regions. Firewall in Uppsala behaves strangely. Three Ceph

AP: Raymond run probably Pike UiB running Newton

Meldown&Spectre patches are out .. install next week ... maybe

RK: How about security request regarding OpenS instances or is this 100% left ot the users

CSC still builds images. UiB made image builder tool RK supposed to install monitoring within the instances with uptime and patches not installed

KH: Nexus scans against VM:s i.e. cloud instances

Geant Meeting: Cloudy Interoperable Software Stacks 11-12th in Amsterdam.
