1. Review of last meeting and News
2. Glenna2 Discussion on OpenStack Book - Rally progress at SNIC
- The OpenStack Foundation have offered a session for the Scientific SIG at the start of the Dublin PTG in February. The broad aim would be to gather and advocate research computing needs in a week with a very good chance of actually getting stuff done.
- As representative participants in the Scientific SIG, if anyone is dation have asked if I can let them know whether we’d like the session before the new year.
Rally at SNIC
- Aleksander (from UPPMAX) has a better idea about Rally service (Thanks to Kalle’s blog and email exchange). If you want, in next Aim-1 meeting, Aleks can present his understanding with the system
- discussion on the final paragraph of the Glenna OpenStack book contrinution:
- Lack of policies associated with funding, security, and localization requirements remain key challenges, when it comes to the cross-border resource sharing. The loosely coupled approach of the Glenna project allows each federation to be fully autonomous in offering different services according to local policies and the available expertise and resources. The SNIC Science Cloud (SSC) in Sweden is one of the examples where a national-scale cloud facility offers services according to the local needs, yet participating in the Glenna project to foster research needs across geographical boundaries. Currently, SSC also relies on SAML 2.0 and in the near future will enable eduGAIN for the cross-border availability of resources within the Glenna project.
