First meeting on Kubernetes Spark deployment

2. Action points - progress & issues



3. Todays topics - issues to discuss:

  • A: Issues with spinning up Spark on Kubernetes at CSC using Magnum - Magnum has no KubeDNS
  • gurvinder skeptical about OpenStack
  • G: Kubernetes 1.4 used in the Demo given. KubeDNS is not included by default and Magnum does not reverse proxy which is needed for Spark on Kubernetes
  • After 2.1 it is in the Spark code
  • MooseFS for filesystem
  • G: 16.8 Kubernetes in Norway (HELM repo)

G: Terraformn to creat VM:s for spinning up Kubernetes cluster. Everything on GIT hub

AP for Dan: APP store for the Nordics i.e. through Gurvinders Kubernetes "Home Page"

A: Proteomics use case in Norway
