NLPL SG 19-20 NeIC Board June 2018 outcome regarding the NLPL

The NLPL Midterm report was well received by the NeIC Board. There is no concluding evaluation regarding a next phase or hand-over of project results from the NeIC Board meeting. The PPS model emphasizes the midterm evaluation as point in time where the project owner gives feed back to the project, whether the results of project must be handover to a operational organization, or a continuation of the project can be expected. The missing signal creates unnecessary uncertainty.

NLPL SG 18-21. Associate Program

There is interest for the Associate Program from Göteborgs universitet and from Estonia. The Associate Program is for helping NLP communities across the Nordics

NLPL SG 18-22. NLPL's input to the INFRAEOSC-5-(b)

Stephan presented on NLPL at a Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning workshop by USIT at UiO. Francesco Iozzi (Uninett Sigma2), one of the work package managers for the forthcoming proposal on the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Nordic, was present at the workshop and invited Stephan to coordinate a use case related to NLPL as part of the EOSC-Nordic proposal. As a tentative budget envelope, Francesca has suggested EUR 400,000 and involvement of a sub-set of NLPL partners (and maybe others); this has yet to be confirmed by the larger EOSC-Nordic editorial board. Stephan has sent an outline for a use case to Francesca (copied to the NLPL Steering Group).

NLPL SG 18-23. NLPL's input to the NEIC's strategy plan for 2020-2025

NeIC requested information as part of its ongoing strategy process. Stephan submitted at proposal on behalf of the Steering Group, suggesting establishing the European Internet Archive (EIA). The EIA would require a similar organisation as the NT1 to establish its services. To date, no feedback from NeIC has been received yet.

NLPL SG 18-24. Addendum to Collaboration Agreement - including IT University of Copenhagen

  • Proposal An addendum to the NLPL collaboration agreement, stating that the IT University of Copenhagen is accepted as NLPL Partner, is to be signed by IT University of Copenhagen, and ,on behalf of all Partners, by NeIC.

Proposal approved.
